Privacy policy

This is how Portable Power Guide ("we", "us") handles personal information on portablepowerguide.com.au. We aim to follow the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) where they apply to us.

What we collect

Not much. There are no accounts, comments or payments on this site, so we never ask for your name or card details.

If you email us, we get your email address and whatever you write. We use it to reply, and sometimes to decide what to write next. That's all.

Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, handles technical details like your IP address, browser type and the pages you load, so it can deliver the site and protect it from attacks.

We may use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views. It doesn't use cookies or local storage and doesn't build a profile of you. It records things like the page you visited, the site that sent you, your browser and your country.

Product links go through an address on our site starting with /go/. When you click one, we count the click with the link name, the page you clicked from and your country. We don't store your IP address or anything else that identifies you.

The calculator

The runtime calculator runs in your browser. The numbers you type in aren't sent to us or saved anywhere.

Affiliate links and cookies

If you click through to a retailer or brand, it (or its affiliate network) may set a cookie to record that you came from us. Their privacy policies apply from there. We don't get your name or payment details from them.

We don't sell personal information. We only share it where we need to in order to run the site, such as with our hosting provider, or where the law requires it.

Access, corrections and complaints

To see or correct information we hold about you, or to make a privacy complaint, email hello@portablepowerguide.com.au. If you're not happy with our answer, you can go to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes

If we change this policy, the date at the top will change with it.
